The Coastal Vancouver Advisory Council handles the planning and implementation of local HRMA activities and is made up of members representing a broad range of HR experience levels and areas of practice.

Your Coastal Vancouver Advisory Council for 2017:


Chair – Courtney McKissock, CPHR

Courtney is currently a Senior HR Advisor at Omicron Canada Inc. She is a graduate of University of Western Ontario where she completed her Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies with a specialization in Human Resources. Courtney started volunteering at events with HRMA several years ago and this is her fourth year on the Advisory Council.


Outgoing Chair – Fiona Ho, CPHR

Fiona is a Senior HR Manager at Absolute Software. She is a graduate of Sauder School of Business at UBC and previously served as the post secondary student representative while there. She is also the former Chair of the New Professionals Roundtable and a recipient of the HRMA Rising Star Award for 2014. This is her fifth year on the Advisory Council.


Membership – Kevin Chiu

Kevin is currently a People & Development Consultant with BCAA. He is a graduate of the Sauder School of Business at UBC, where he began his involvement with HRMA as a Post-Secondary Liaison. This is his third year on the Advisory Council.


Mentoring – Cyrus Irani

Cyrus is currently a Benefits Coordinator at Imperial Parking managing benefits for all US and Canadian employees. He is a graduate of Capilano University where he completed his Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources. Cyrus started volunteering with HRMA three years ago as a member of the Mentoring program. This is his first year on the Advisory Council and second year as co-chair of the Mentoring program.


Networking – Kendra Feenstra, CPHR

Kendra is the Human Resources Manager for DMCL Chartered Professional Accountants where she has the overall responsibility for the HR function within the organization. Kendra plays a key role in the development, implementation and enhancement of HR initiatives and programs while supporting organizational objectives and ensuring all aspects of Human Resources are aligned with business strategy. Kendra began volunteering with HRMA as a member of the Membership portfolio and this is her fourth year serving on the Advisory Council.


Networking – Serena Morphy, CPHR

Serena currently works for Interfor as a Corporate Recruiter.  Serena holds a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration and a Certificate in Human Resources Management from BCIT and was HRMA’s Rising Star Award recipient for 2015. This is Serena’s third year on the Advisory Council.


Networking – Laura Liden, CPHR Candidate

Laura is currently working as a Health and Benefits Analyst with Morneau Shepell. She recently graduated from BCIT’s Human Resources Management Diploma Program after completing her Bachelor of Arts at the University of British Columbia. This is Laura’s sixth year volunteering with the advisory council.


Networking – Darelle Odo, CPHR 

Darelle is currently a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Traction on Demand and has previous experience in HR and Recruitment. She is a graduate of UVic with a degree in Business and obtained her CPHR in 2012. Darelle is currently pursuing her MBA on a part time basis at UBC’s Sauder School of Business. This is her fourth year on the Advisory Council.


Post-Secondary – Jennifer Lo

Jennifer is currently a Talent Acquisition Specialist at TD Bank Group and worked in an external agency in Hong Kong. She is a graduate of UBC’s Sauder School of Business with specializations in HR and International Business. She began volunteering with HRMA during university and this is her second year on the Advisory Council.


Volunteering – Kathryn Moore, CPHR

Kathryn is a Senior HR Generalist at Stemcell Technologies. Kathryn is an alumna of UBC’s Sauder School of Business with specializations in HR and Marketing. She previously worked in HR at UBC, EY (formerly Ernst & Young) and in international development in Cambodia. This is Kathryn’s third year serving on the Advisory Council.
